PanafestFestivals in Cape Coast, Ghana Panafest, or the ’Pan-African Historical Theatre Festival’ is a festival celebrating the traditions and cultures of Africa. Held biannually in Cape Coast, Ghana, it’s a showcase of the best of both modern and traditional arts. It celebrates African fashion, digital arts, music, theatre, visual arts and dance. It also features a series of politically based conferences about the African arts, Africa’s history and Africa’s relationship with the rest of the world. Most Africans see Panafest as part-pilgrimage partly a chance to party and show off their skills. One of the best events is a candlelit Emancipation Vigil to honour African slaves (Cape coast was one of the main slave traders ports.). Read more about this at World Reviewer: Panafest »

About usStuck at your desk? Gazing out at those grey skies and imagining you are somewhere else? I want to go here is all about inspiring you to do something different - about encouraging you to check out a new experience or destination. It's simple - we post something new every day. If you like the look of it, send it to a couple of friends. If not, wait and see what tomorrow brings. And if it gets past the fantasy stage, we'll soon have links to research the experience further, but you can also send us an email, and we'll tell you where to look or book next. |
