Bonn Om TukFestivals in Phnom Penh, Cambodia This three day festival is one of Cambodia’s biggest and celebrates the end of the wet season and the rivers changing flow in a series of boat races. The course is constructed so the water is held in that section of river by a gate dam across the finish line and when the race is won the gate is pushed open and water gushes out. Special rice dishes are served late at night in the light of the full moon and there are fireworks and a lantern lit flotilla contributing to the spectacle and celebratory atmosphere. Bonn Om Tuk is held annually on the full moon at the end of October, beginning of November. Read more about this at World Reviewer: Bonn Om Tuk »

About usStuck at your desk? Gazing out at those grey skies and imagining you are somewhere else? I want to go here is all about inspiring you to do something different - about encouraging you to check out a new experience or destination. It's simple - we post something new every day. If you like the look of it, send it to a couple of friends. If not, wait and see what tomorrow brings. And if it gets past the fantasy stage, we'll soon have links to research the experience further, but you can also send us an email, and we'll tell you where to look or book next. |
